How to use the lock

Press the button down to lock the lead and keep your dog at the distance you have chosen. To bring your dog back in, press to release, move your hand forward, then press again once the dog comes to you. Hold the grip firmly while the rope is running out.

Eight metres is a lot of lead. It is genuinely useful on open ground, beaches and quiet trails. It is the wrong tool on a pavement beside traffic, where you want your dog within a metre of you and the lock on.

Honest note
